As a project designer, I provided engineering and technical support to the
SuperCon design team, the Advanced Light Source Group, and The Star
Engineering Group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. I played an
active role in the design, fabrication, and testing of a prototype high field super
conducting magnet. I Created a library of 2-D and 3-D standard assembly
fasteners and components for Designers. I composed assembly drawings and
floor plans for various ALS beam lines. I modified and revised several
engineering drawings for the Star Project. I created and maintained several Web
pages for the Star Engineering group.
Most of the design work was done using Mechanical Engineering 10 and
Mechanical Engineering 30 CAD software. Using these packages, I produced
shop drawings and detailed CAD models in 2-D and 3-D. The CAD drawings
included parts, assemblies, tooling, layouts and test fixtures to support the on
going research and project development at the Laboratory. I also maintained
and updated as-built CAD models and shop drawings. My duties also included
tracking parts and assemblies through the shop and fabrication process after the
design stage.
