For experimentation, I applied the learning methodology to the chapters on controller design from the Myer and Kutz Mechanical Engineer's Handbook (because it was available in digital form). The documents were parsed, indexed and retrieved based on modifications to the freeWAIS-sf program, a free full-text database, so that they could be retrieved over the Web using the Z39.50 protocol. All of the programs were integrated with AutoCAD and AutoCAD drawings to generate the "smart drawings."
